We are seeking a passionate and skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our Intelligent Transport Management Systems (ITMS) team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining software solutions for intelligent transportation applications, including fleet management, vehicle tracking, passenger information systems, surveillance systems, driver assistance solutions, and smart mobility platforms.
The role requires strong programming skills, problem-solving abilities, and the willingness to work closely with embedded, electronics, cloud, and networking teams to deliver reliable and scalable transportation solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain software applications for Intelligent Transport Management Systems.
- Develop backend services, APIs, and user interfaces for transportation applications.
- Integrate software with embedded devices, GPS modules, cameras, IoT sensors, and communication protocols.
- Develop applications for vehicle monitoring, diagnostics, route management, and fleet operations.
- Optimise software performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Perform debugging, testing, and troubleshooting of software issues.
- Participate in software architecture discussions and technical reviews.
- Collaborate with Embedded, Hardware, QA, and Product teams throughout the development lifecycle.
- Prepare technical documentation, software specifications, and user manuals.
- Ensure software complies with cybersecurity, quality, and industry standards.
- Support deployment, customer acceptance testing, and field issue resolution.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics & Communication, or related discipline.
- 5–10 years of experience in software development.
- Strong knowledge of C++, Java, or Python.
- Experience in object-oriented programming and design principles.
- Knowledge of REST APIs and database development.
- Experience with SQL (MySQL, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server).
- Familiarity with Linux and Windows development environments.
- Experience using Git or other version control systems.
- Good understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC).
Preferred Skills
- Experience in Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) or Automotive Software.
- Knowledge of GPS tracking systems and telematics.
- Understanding of communication protocols such as TCP/IP, MQTT, CAN, RS232, and RS485.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
- Familiarity with Docker and containerized applications.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles for connected systems.
- Experience with IoT platforms and real-time data processing.
- Understanding of AI/ML applications in transportation is an added advantage.
