Lumark has an immediate opening for a Mid-Level Cloud Engineer to join our team in support of our ongoing commercial, federal, and defense projects, and our corporate IT infrastructure. The Cloud Engineer will have the opportunity to support our corporate team as a long-term member with the strong potential for growth into a senior-level role over time. In addition, the Cloud Engineer will have exposure to a variety of client environments through participation in Lumark’s operational projects.
Duties
- Plan and implement scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud solutions across platforms such as AWS and Azure.
- Configure and launch cloud resources to support applications and workloads, including virtual servers, networking, and storage.
- Track system performance, optimize resource usage, and ensure high availability and reliability.
- Implement security controls, manage access, and ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory standards including CMMC, NIST 800-53, and others to potentially include FISMA and HIPAA.
- Automate deployment and configuration processes.
- Identify and resolve system issues.
- Support the development, operation, and sustainment of private and GovCloud environments.
- Troubleshoot issues and support users with basic helpdesk functions.
- Design, develop, and deploy customized solutions to help solve ongoing business needs.
- Plan and configure systems to meet current and future workload demands.
- Maintain system documentation, version control, test plans, and technical specifications.
Qualifications
- Hold 4 to 8 years of relevant cloud/systems engineering experience
- At minimum, currently hold or have recently held a SECRET clearance or higher.
- Bachelor’s degree in an related field of study.
- Must reside within commuting distance of our corporate headquarters in Fairfax, VA.
- Must have experience working with AWS Cloud and certification preferred.
- Experience in pipeline creation using CircleCI, GitHub and Laravel desired.
- Experience working with Cisco and Juniper networks preferred.
- Must have excellent verbal/written communication skills and effective interpersonal skills.
- Must be detail-oriented, organized, and self-motivated with high attention to detail.
- Ability to handle efficiently and effectively multiple and shifting priorities.
- Strong customer service, organizational and interpersonal skills; problem solving and analytical abilities; and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook), SharePoint, and Active Directory.
