Overview: Every Turnberry consultant belongs to a practice, an internal group of consultants and leaders with shared experience and expertise. Each of these practices aligns to one of the core services Turnberry offers to clients. As a Cloud Engineer, you will join Turnberry's Digital Modernization practice, where technology and strategy combine to deliver exceptional digital experiences, empowering organizations to thrive in today's digital market.
Responsibilities
- Monitor cloud system performance, availability, compliance, and security using cloud-native or third-party monitoring tools
- Design and implement cross-account architectures, landing zones, and enterprise governance using frameworks like AWS Organizations and Azure Management Groups
- Work with application teams to design and implement backup, disaster recovery, high availability, and failover strategies across Azure and AWS environments to ensure business continuity and resilience
- Regularly review and optimize cloud resources, configurations, and policies to align with cloud best practices, cost optimization, governance, and security requirements
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, network engineers, cybersecurity teams, and IT administrators to support enterprise cloud initiatives and operational excellence
- Provide guidance on migrating on-premises systems to Azure and AWS cloud platforms
- Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for Azure and AWS-related architecture, operations, troubleshooting, and cloud service inquiries
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for cloud architecture, configurations, operational processes, standards, and procedures
- Lead the effort in infrastructure automation, provisioning, and configuration management using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform
- Architect and maintain secure identity management, IAM roles, and access control models (e.g., Cognito, Azure AD/Entra ID) across multi-account environments
- Participate in cloud capacity planning, cost management, and performance tuning initiatives to improve scalability and operational efficiency
- Regularly audit and ensure adherence to governance policies set by the Azure/AWS Governance team (e.g., cost management, resource tagging)
- Support the team in defining and updating governance strategies
- Propose innovative solutions by approaching problems with curiosity and open mindedness, using existing information and vendor resources to their fullest potential
- Collaborate with stakeholders to design solutions that meet business requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology (IT), a related field required, or H.S. Diploma and equivalent experience in lieu of degree required
- 6-8 years of relevant experience required
- 4-6 years of Azure/AWS administration experience required
- Proven experience in designing, deploying, and managing AWS/Azure environments
- Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform
- Familiarity with scripting languages like PowerShell, Python, or Bash
- Knowledge and experience in cloud native monitoring tools and/or Datadog
The salary range for this role is $80,000 to $160,000 or the hourly equivalent.
