Opportunity Overview
NOCD is looking for a DevOps Engineer with a strong software engineering background to help build, deploy, and scale the infrastructure powering our digital behavioral health platform.
This is a hands-on engineering role where you'll split your time between building application features and improving the infrastructure that supports them. You'll work across the full stack while also owning cloud infrastructure, deployment automation, and developer tooling.
You'll partner closely with Product, Engineering, and Design to ship customer-facing features while ensuring our platform remains secure, reliable, and scalable.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys writing production code, automating infrastructure, and improving the developer experience.
What You'll Do
Software Engineering
- Design, build, and maintain full-stack product features
- Write clean, maintainable backend and frontend code
- Build and consume REST APIs and microservices
- Participate in architecture discussions and code reviews
DevOps & Infrastructure
- Build and maintain AWS infrastructure using Terraform
- Improve CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation
- Manage Kubernetes and Docker environments
- Monitor system health and improve observability
- Troubleshoot production issues across applications and infrastructure
- Improve reliability, scalability, and security across the platform
Collaboration
- Partner closely with Product, Design, and Engineering teams
- Help improve engineering workflows and developer tooling
- Participate in incident response and production support
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Strong experience building modern web applications
- Experience with Python, TypeScript, Java, or similar backend languages
- Experience building frontend applications with React or similar frameworks
- Experience with AWS
- Experience using Terraform for Infrastructure as Code
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience building or maintaining CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar)
- Experience with Git and modern software development practices
- Strong understanding of cloud architecture and distributed systems
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in healthcare or regulated environments
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools (Datadog, CloudWatch, etc.)
- Experience with microservices and event-driven architectures
- Experience supporting production applications
- Experience improving deployment automation and developer workflows

Compensation for this role ranges from $130,000-170,000 annually. Actual pay will be based on the individual’s qualifications and experience.
