Primary Focus
As the Senior DevOps Engineer/Lead, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing reliable, automated, and scalable cloud infrastructure for our enterprise SaaS platforms.
AWS will be the primary cloud platform, with Azure as the secondary platform. You will own CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, container orchestration, observability, release management, and production reliability. You will work closely with architecture, engineering, and QA teams to enable faster and more dependable software delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure primarily on AWS, with additional support for Microsoft Azure.
- Build and maintain scalable deployment environments for enterprise SaaS applications.
- Establish and enforce Infrastructure-as-Code practices using Terraform.
- Implement and manage containerized workloads using Docker and Kubernetes, primarily on Amazon EKS.
- Design, automate, and optimize CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, with exposure to Azure DevOps as an advantage.
- Manage AWS services such as EC2, EKS, ECS, ECR, S3, RDS, IAM, VPC, Route 53, CloudFront, CloudWatch, and AWS Secrets Manager.
- Support Azure services and deployments where required.
- Implement effective logging, monitoring, alerting, and distributed tracing across applications and infrastructure.
- Define deployment, rollback, backup, disaster recovery, and environment-management processes.
- Improve platform availability, scalability, performance, and cost efficiency.
- Implement operational security practices, including access control, secrets management, vulnerability scanning, and infrastructure hardening.
- Troubleshoot infrastructure, deployment, networking, and production issues.
- Collaborate with architects, developers, and QA teams to deliver reliable releases.
- Define DevOps standards, processes, and best practices across engineering teams.
- Mentor junior DevOps engineers and support their technical development.
Key Skills Required
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS cloud services and architecture.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure services and deployment environments.
- Strong expertise in CI/CD implementation using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar tools.
- Experience with Azure DevOps is an advantage.
- Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes, particularly Amazon EKS.
- Strong experience with Terraform for Infrastructure-as-Code.
- Experience with Kubernetes deployment tools such as Helm.
- Understanding of AWS networking, including VPCs, subnets, security groups, load balancers, DNS, and private connectivity.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, ELK, or Loki.
- Experience with Linux administration and shell scripting.
- Understanding of deployment strategies such as rolling, blue-green, and canary deployments.
- Knowledge of identity and access management, secrets management, backup, and disaster recovery practices.
- Ability to troubleshoot production-grade cloud and SaaS environments.
- Strong communication, ownership, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Ability to mentor engineers and drive consistent DevOps practices across teams.
