We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Engineering Manager with a strong background in DevOps, AWS, Kubernetes, and Docker to lead our DevOps team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing DevOps operations, implementing best practices, and driving automation and efficiency in software development and deployment processes. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, leadership abilities, and excellent organizational skills to ensure the successful delivery of projects and the smooth operation of our infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Team Leadership and Management: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of DevOps engineers. Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment. Provide guidance and support to team members in their professional development.
- DevOps Strategy and Implementation: Develop and implement DevOps strategies and practices. Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines. Ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of our infrastructure.
- Cloud Infrastructure Management: Manage and optimize our AWS infrastructure. Implement best practices for cost management, security, and performance. Oversee the deployment and operation of applications in the cloud.
- Containerization and Orchestration: Lead the adoption and management of containerization technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes. Ensure the efficient deployment, scaling, and management of containerized applications.
- Automation and Scripting: Drive automation efforts across the development and deployment processes. Implement and maintain automation scripts and tools for infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and monitoring.
- Monitoring and Incident Management: Implement and manage monitoring, logging, and alerting systems. Ensure proactive identification and resolution of issues. Lead incident response efforts and conduct post-mortem analyses.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with software development, QA, and operations teams to ensure seamless integration and delivery of applications. Communicate effectively with stakeholders to provide updates on project progress, risks, and issues.
- Security and Compliance: Implement and enforce security best practices across the infrastructure. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. Conduct regular security assessments and audits.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive documentation of infrastructure, processes, and configurations. Prepare and present reports on system performance, incidents, and project outcomes.
Required Skills And Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Advanced degrees and relevant certifications are a plus.
- Technical Expertise: Strong proficiency in AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, etc.). Extensive experience with containerization technologies (Docker) and orchestration tools (Kubernetes). Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, etc.).
- DevOps Tools: Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI, etc.). Knowledge of configuration management tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet). Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
- Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. Experience in troubleshooting complex infrastructure issues and implementing effective solutions.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with other cloud platforms (Google Cloud, Azure).
- Knowledge of microservices architecture and service mesh technologies (Istio, Linkerd).
- Familiarity with database management systems (SQL, NoSQL).
- Understanding of network security principles and best practices.
