Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Head of Product Engineering to take full ownership of the product design, development, and release processes for our loan against securities product(s) and its features. The incumbent will lead the engineering team, work closely to drive the end-to-end development of seamless, secure, and scalable products. This role requires strong technical leadership, a customer-centric mindset, and experience in building financial services products. The key responsibilities will include the following:
- Product Ownership:
- Take full ownership of the product lifecycle from ideation, design, and development to testing, release, and ongoing improvements.
- Lead the engineering team to develop cutting-edge loan products that are secure, scalable, and user-friendly.
- Collaborate with product managers to define product roadmaps, ensuring alignment with business goals and customer needs.
- Product Design & Development:
- Oversee product architecture, ensuring that designs meet technical and functional requirements.
- Ensure the product adheres to the highest standards of security, especially concerning financial data protection.
- Work with cross-functional teams, including UX/UI designers, to create intuitive and engaging user interfaces.
- Continuously iterate on product features based on user feedback, market trends, and competitive analysis.
- Technology Leadership:
- Drive innovation in product development by adopting the latest technologies, development frameworks, and methodologies.
- Ensure a robust infrastructure that supports high transaction volumes and minimizes downtime.
- Implement agile and DevOps practices to improve the efficiency and speed of product releases.
- Optimize the development process, balancing time-to-market with quality.
- Team Leadership:
- Build and lead a high-performing product engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability.
- Mentor, coach, and develop engineering talent to support the company’s growth and product objectives.
- Set clear KPIs and performance metrics for the engineering team, ensuring that product development stays on track.
- Quality Assurance & Release Management:
- Develop and enforce rigorous testing and QA processes to ensure the product’s stability, security, and performance.
- Oversee release management, ensuring smooth and timely product launches with minimal disruptions.
- Monitor post-launch performance, swiftly addressing any issues or bugs.
- Collaboration with Stakeholders:
- Work closely with business stakeholders to understand market demands, regulatory requirements, and customer needs.
- Ensure alignment between engineering, product, sales, and marketing teams to deliver a cohesive product experience.
- Communicate technical challenges, timelines, and progress to senior management and key stakeholders.
- Risk Management & Compliance:
- Ensure all products comply with industry regulations, particularly in financial services and data security.
- Implement measures to manage risks related to product reliability, data integrity, and system performance.
The incumbent will be a key member of the leadership team and to be suitable for the role, must have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Technology from a reputed institute.
- At least 15+ years of experience in product engineering
- Proven experience in building and scaling financial services products, preferably in the lending space.
- Strong understanding of security protocols, data protection, and compliance requirements in the financial services industry.
- Experience with modern technology stacks, cloud infrastructure, and agile development methodologies.
- Hands-on experience in full-stack development and familiarity with DevOps practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Strong track record of delivering products on time and within scope, with a focus on user experience and performance.
