Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Lead SDN Developer with expertise in Cisco NSO, Python, and YANG models. As a lead developer, you will design, develop, and implement scalable SDN solutions for enterprise and telecom environments. You will be responsible for leading the development efforts, ensuring the seamless integration of network services, and optimizing network orchestration through automation using Cisco NSO.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the architecture, design, and development of SDN (Software-Defined Networking) solutions using Cisco NSO.
Develop network service models using YANG and integrate them into the NSO framework.
Automate network configurations and service provisioning using Python scripts and NSO's service orchestration capabilities.
Collaborate with network engineers, architects, and operations teams to translate business needs into technical solutions.
Ensure the integration and deployment of Cisco NSO with multi-vendor network infrastructures.
Work on lifecycle management of network services (provisioning, monitoring, updates, decommissioning).
Mentor and guide junior developers and network engineers in SDN best practices and Cisco NSO development.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to network orchestration, automation, and NSO deployments.
Perform code reviews, optimize scripts, and ensure adherence to coding standards.
Stay updated with the latest in SDN, network automation, and orchestration technologies.
Required Skills And Qualifications
12 to 18 years of total experience in IT, with significant exposure to SDN and network automation.
Strong expertise in Cisco NSO (Network Services Orchestrator) including development, integration, and customization.
Proficiency in Python for automation and orchestration tasks.
Deep knowledge of YANG data modeling and its integration with NSO.
Hands-on experience with networking protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF, MPLS) and multi-vendor network environments.
Experience in building scalable, automated network solutions for enterprise and service provider networks.
Familiarity with other network automation tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef) is a plus.
Strong understanding of DevOps methodologies and CI/CD pipelines.
Experience with REST APIs, NETCONF, and CLI-based integrations.
Ability to lead and manage a team of developers, set priorities, and ensure project timelines are met.
