About the Role
As a DevOps/backend intern at Origin Medical Research Lab, you will work closely with Product, R&D (AI), and Data Engineering teams to deploy, maintain, and monitor front-end and back-end infrastructure for several internal tools, software applications, and our flagship product. You will also get to work with leading healthcare providers, medical institutions, regulatory experts, and AI scientists across various stages of software and product development life cycles.
What will you do?
- Deploy, and maintain a high-quality codebase (behavioral-driven design and domain-driven design) with proper testing and re-usability.
- Assist in the design, deployment, and management of cloud-based infrastructure.
- Utilize native AWS services to meet the technology and resiliency requirements.
- Implement DevOps practices including containerization with Docker and continuous integration with Jenkins
- Support the automation of deployment processes and CI/CD pipelines.
- Collaborate with development teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
- Monitor system performance and help in optimizing resource usage.
- Contribute to documentation and knowledge sharing within the team.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to project planning and execution.
Who are we looking for?
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or recent graduates.
- Basic understanding of Linux/Unix systems.
- Strong programming skills in one or more languages such as Python, Go, or JavaScript/Typescript.
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) is a plus.
- A basic understanding of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is required.
- Understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design patterns.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
- Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with other engineers.
- Strong motivation to continuously learn and expand programming skills, including an eagerness to learn new programming languages and frameworks.
- Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively - both verbally and in writing - in English.
- Previous internship experience in early-stage startups is a plus.
