Our client, an exploration and production company, is seeking a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to lead in the design, support, and management of their cloud and datacenter systems architecture. This role is responsible for implementing and maintaining robust cloud infrastructure, servers, networking, and storage solutions, ensuring system reliability, performance, and security.
The ideal candidate is a customer-oriented problem solver, proactive in anticipating issues, and skilled at following problems through to resolution, providing root cause analysis for complex challenges.
Responsibilities:
- Design, deploy, and manage company cloud and datacenter infrastructure using best practices for system resiliency.
- Administer and optimize cloud environments with Microsoft Azure and AWS, overseeing infrastructure upgrades for security and performance.
- Leverage change management protocols to document, share knowledge, and communicate effectively on projects and tasks.
- Deploy and manage Azure solutions, including Microsoft Intune, Autopilot, and Office 365 environments, supporting users across Exchange, OneDrive, and Teams.
- Oversee various enterprise technology systems (Email, Voice over IP, backup, productivity, databases, etc.) for seamless, secure operations.
- Maintain and update infrastructure documentation, diagrams, and conduct vulnerability assessments to enhance system security.
- Participate in disaster recovery planning, implementation, and testing.
- Act as an escalation point for support teams and provide technical support in-person and remotely as needed.
- Coordinate with vendors for hardware/software issue resolution and new implementations.
- Ensure SLA compliance by managing incident tickets, tracking resolutions, and maintaining follow-ups.
- Monitor and optimize network performance, troubleshoot issues, and participate in an on-call rotation for critical incidents.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree (Information Systems, MIS, stem)
- 8+ years of experience in cloud and systems infrastructure.
- Expertise in Azure and AWS IaaS/PaaS/SaaS services, with skills in templating cloud deployments.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Windows servers, workstations, Active Directory, and Azure AD.
- Strong knowledge of VLANs, IPSEC tunnels, virtual networks, routing, and switching.
- Experience with cost optimization, resource utilization, and security in cloud environments.
- Familiarity with SSO, MFA, IAM, certificates, and storage technologies.
- Skilled in scripting languages (Python, PowerShell) for task automation.
- Experience with VMware and virtual infrastructure, cybersecurity, and incident management.
- Capable of patching, system backups, and recovery for both cloud and on-premises infrastructure.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and customer service skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience incident and asset management software.
- Skills in troubleshooting Windows client operating systems.
- Previous experience in the oil and gas industry.
- Azure Solutions Architect Expert or AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional certifications.
This position offers a hybrid work schedule. Applicants must live in Houston.
