You will be part of a team of cloud engineers who are focused on developing, configuring, and maintaining our cloud presence, ensuring robust security practices, and driving automation in the software development lifecycle. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Azure, AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, and monitoring tools like Datadog, CloudTrail, and Azure Monitor.

Supervisory Responsibilities
- This position reports directly to the Director of Cloud & Data for coaching, performance appraisal work, guidance, direction, and feedback.
- This position will be part of a small team of two Cloud Engineers and a Cloud Architect.
NATURE & SCOPE
Cloud Engineer must
- Demonstrate knowledge within one of the major cloud providers (Azure/AWS/GCP)
- Collaborate with teams to evolve the containerization ecosystem, establish and mature standards and integration for infrastructure management domains - logging, monitoring, configuration management, and orchestration. Identify and implement standard tool sets to reduce complexity and support operational goals for increasing automation across the enterprise.
- Interfaces with various teams within the organization as well as third party vendors to design, implement, and support multiple cloud platforms and applicable on-premise infrastructure.
- Provide operational support, optimization, and monitoring of 24/7 cloud-based production infrastructure.
- Participate in agile ceremonies (e.g., sprint planning, stand-ups) and collaborate on defining and refining DevOps processes to support faster, more efficient releases.
- Continuously improve cloud infrastructure and release management practices to reduce manual overhead, improve deployment speed, and increase service reliability.

Other Education, Skills, and Abilities
- Requires an undergraduate degree in Computer Science or related discipline plus 6 or more years of specific and progressive experience in cloud engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Proven experience in Containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), Infrastructure-as-Code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation), and automated testing frameworks.
- Experience in implementing Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), Identity and Access Management (IAM) and Just-In-Time (JIT) access
- Hands-on experience with OAuth 2.0, SAML, and OIDC
- Expertise in Datadog monitoring, end-to-end tracing, and proactive performance management.
- Familiarity with Automation tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps) and version control systems (e.g., Git, Bitbucket).
- Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and secure coding principles.
- Exposure to Jira for project management and Jira Service Management (JSM) for incident management and ticket resolution.
- Experience with public key infrastructure (PKI), x509, TLS
- Experience in the financial industry, specifically Credit Union/Banking is preferred.
- Cloud certifications (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)) are a plus.
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Work with Cloud Engineers, System Infrastructure Engineers, Software Developers and Information Security Team to evaluate, implement, and monitor changes to the cloud environments to meet the organization’s needs.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Excellent ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing; ability to tolerate periods of continuous sitting; ability to operate and utilize a personal computer and peripherals.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
- Work is primarily performed within a cubicle office setting. Subject to conversational noise found in an office environment.
- Note: Staff are expected to perform various tasks, projects, and administrative duties as assigned.
