The DevOps Technician will play a pivotal role in managing and optimising the financial and operational best practice of our Azure Cloud infrastructure. This position is key to ensuring the efficient use of cloud resources while driving cost optimisation and risk mitigation. By promoting FinOps and DevOps best practices, you'll be an integral part of the Engineering Governance team and will assist in educating teams, standardising processes, and collaborating across the organisation to foster a culture of financial accountability.

Key Responsibilities
- Cost Monitoring & Optimisation: Establish and manage processes to continuously monitor Azure Cloud costs, ensuring adherence to best practices and optimizing configurations for cost efficiency.
- Proactive Cost Control: Implement policies and operational guardrails to avoid unnecessary or unexpected expenditures, ensuring financial control over cloud services.
- Reporting & Forecasting: Build and maintain PowerBI dashboards, forecasts, and reports on key financial and operational metrics to support data-driven decision-making across the business.
- Collaboration & Education: Assist in the adoption of FinOps culture by educating stakeholders and driving collaboration across teams to ensure alignment with financial and operational strategies.
- Deployments: Assist the team with creation of CI/CD pipeline, cloud resource creation using Hashicorp Terraform and ensure a best practice ‘Infrastructure As Code’ environment.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in managing cloud infrastructure costs and usage.
- Experience in financial reporting, analysis, and optimization within a cloud environment.
- Proven experience in Azure resource creation, either manually or via automation.
- Solid understanding of Azure Cloud concepts, including infrastructure-as-code (ideally Hashicorp Terraform), virtual devices, storage, networking, logic apps, function apps and more.
- Hands-on experience in Azure account management, Azure budget configuration, Azure dashboards, IAM, secrets management, and enforcing Azure policies, tagging, and cost management strategies.
- Knowledge of Power Platform, ideally Power Automate and PowerApps
- Knowledge of CI/CD best practice
- Proficiency in Azure financial modelling, budgeting, and forecasting, ideally with tools such as PowerBI.
- Proven ability to optimise processes and manage cloud usage with a focus on cost efficiency and performance.
- In-depth knowledge of FinOps tooling and the ability to recommend improvements for financial operations.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to synthesise data from multiple sources, offering clear insights and actionable recommendations.
- Experience implementing FinOps best practices in a cloud-based organization.
