Objective of the Role
The Cloud Solution Architect will play a crucial role in designing and implementing cloud solutions that meet business needs. This position requires 8-12 years of relevant experience and a deep understanding of cloud technologies, security, and DevOps practices.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Design end-to-end cloud solutions tailored to meet business needs, focusing on scalability, reliability, and security.
- Develop architectural blueprints and detailed design documents for cloud-based systems.
- Evaluate and recommend cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP, or hybrid solutions) based on project requirements.
- Ensure alignment of cloud solutions with enterprise architecture standards and principles.
- Act as a technical lead for cloud migration, modernization, and greenfield projects.
- Provide architectural guidance and technical expertise to development, DevOps, and operations teams.
- Lead proof-of-concept (POC) initiatives to evaluate new cloud technologies or approaches.
- Oversee technical decisions and drive best practices for cloud implementations.
- Develop and execute migration strategies for moving on-premises applications and infrastructure to the cloud.
- Refactor or re-platform legacy applications to leverage cloud-native services.
- Implement hybrid cloud architectures and multi-cloud strategies when necessary.
- Design secure cloud environments following industry standards such as CIS, NIST, and ISO27001.
- Implement identity and access management (IAM), encryption, and data protection mechanisms in cloud architectures.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements like GDPR, HIPAA, or PCI-DSS.
- Monitor cloud usage and identify opportunities for cost savings using tools like AWS Cost Explorer or Azure Cost Management.
- Design cost-effective solutions by selecting appropriate service tiers and leveraging reserved instances or spot instances.
- Advocate for FinOps best practices to manage cloud budgets effectively.
- Work closely with business stakeholders, product owners, and technical teams to gather and analyze requirements.
- Act as a bridge between business goals and technical execution.
- Present architectural solutions to stakeholders and senior leadership, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Integrate DevOps practices into solution design, enabling CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and automated deployments.
- Leverage tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Pulumi for infrastructure provisioning and management.
- Promote observability through logging, monitoring, and alerting using tools like CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, or Prometheus.
- Stay updated on emerging trends in cloud computing, serverless architecture, containerization, and AI/ML.
- Continuously evaluate and recommend new cloud services to enhance organizational capabilities.
- Drive cloud adoption initiatives and guide teams in leveraging cloud-native technologies effectively.
- Design disaster recovery (DR) strategies and ensure business continuity by implementing RTO/RPO-compliant architectures.
- Architect highly available and fault-tolerant systems across multiple regions and availability zones.
