Job Description:
N3bula Systems is seeking a DevSecOps Engineer to enhance automation, security, and infrastructure capabilities in a dynamic technical environment. This role is ideal for an expert in DevSecOps, cloud automation, and secure infrastructure, who will play a critical role in integrating SAFE-SiM and other Modeling & Simulation (M&S) frameworks into a multi-domain, multi-classification environment.
This is a full-time, on-site position in Reston, VA, requiring an active TS/SCI clearance. (TS is required, we can obtain SCI Clearance once hired if needed)
Responsibilities:
Infrastructure Engineering & DevSecOps:
• Design, implement, and maintain secure and scalable infrastructure for DoD Modeling & Simulation (M&S) systems.
• Develop and manage continuous deployment pipelines for mission-critical M&S tools.
• Implement auto-scaling, monitoring, and security automation to ensure high availability.
• Integrate SAFE-SiM and other M&S tools into the Modeling & Simulation Infrastructure Environment (MSIE).
• Apply DevSecOps best practices, embedding security throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Ensure full compliance with DoD cybersecurity standards (NIST, RMF, DISA STIGs).
Agile Development & Collaboration:
• Participate in sprint planning, retrospectives, and technical demonstrations.
• Provide technical progress reports, program management plans, and agile artifacts.
• Attend quarterly Technical Exchange Meetings in State College, PA, representing N3bula Systems.
• Work closely with stakeholders to ensure interoperability and alignment with project goals.
Risk Management & Scalability:
• Address key challenges in interoperability, security compliance, and scalability.
• Implement auto-scaling techniques and robust monitoring for M&S solutions.
• Develop and document risk mitigation strategies.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education & Experience (One of the following):
Master’s Degree + 8 years of relevant experience
Bachelor’s Degree + 10 years of relevant experience
15+ years of experience in DevSecOps, Infrastructure Engineering, or related fields
Technical Expertise:
Extensive experience in DevSecOps pipelines, automation, and security compliance in DoD environments.
Strong expertise in cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, hybrid-cloud) and container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker).
Proficiency in CI/CD tools (GitLab, Jenkins, ArgoCD, Terraform, Ansible, Puppet).
Deep understanding of zero-trust security models, access control, and automation.
DoD & Intelligence Community Experience:
Strong background in multi-domain M&S environments supporting DoD projects.
Expertise in secure classified environments and cross-domain solutions.
Familiarity with high-performance computing (HPC) and distributed simulation architectures.
Preferred Qualifications:
Hands-on experience with SAFE-SiM and DoD M&S frameworks.
Experience integrating multi-classification environments for M&S.
Strong technical writing and documentation skills for compliance reporting.
