Job Description
Role: Sr Platform Engineer
Location: USA
Who are we looking for?
The Senior Platform & DevOps Engineering contributes to the strategic objectives by providing support of on-prem products and cloud-based production platforms.
Platform Engineering Expertise:
- 10+ years of Platform engineering/DevOps experience as Technical SME role and have real time experience
- Proven track record in leading complex platform engineering projects and designing scalable systems.
- Design, build and maintain the Kubernetes platform for container orchestration
- Work closely with development teams to architect and implement applications in a scalable and resilient manner
- Ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of the platform and applications
- Perform day-to-day operational tasks such as upgrades and patching of Kubernetes platform
- Automate operational tasks using scripting languages such as Python, Bash or Shell
- Develop and implement CI/CD pipelines for application deployment on Kubernetes
- Health check & Platform Monitoring and applications using tools like Prometheus, Grafana or Backstage stack
- Assist with capacity planning and load testing of the platform and applications
- Develop and enforce best practices for building container-based applications
- Troubleshoot issues within the platform and work with development teams to resolve application issues
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies in container orchestration and cloud-native/on-prem development
Cloud Platforms: Hands-on experience with Google Cloud and/or AWS.
Containerization and Orchestration: Proficient with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Observability Tools: Experience with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or Splunk. Realtime experience in JavaScript/Typescript and Backstage.io
Programming Skills: Proficient in Go, Python, and Java.
SRE Skills:
Expertise in applying SRE methodologies, monitoring strategies, and performance optimization.
CI/CD Tools: Proficiency with tools like Jenkins,GitHub Actions, ArgoCD,CodePipeline
Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Advanced knowledge of Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
Database Management: Familiarity with SQL, Postgres,Influx DB,Mongo, and caching technologies.
Behavioral Skills:
- Interact, co-ordinate with different teams and get the issue resolved on priority.
- Aggressive follow up, Updating the stakeholders on the status on priority issues by following proper escalation matrix
Qualification:
Education qualification: B.Tech, BE, BCA, MCA, M. Tech or equivalent technical degree from a reputed college
Certification:
- Google Cloud Professional Engineer
- Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect
- Cloud/DevOps certifications , ITIL, any other Technical certifications.
