DevOps Engineer
Type: Contract (6+ months)
Location: US Remote
Job Description: We are seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer with expertise in data center engineering and operations. The ideal candidate will have strong coding skills in Terraform and Ansible, experience working in a data center environment, and the ability to remotely access and install servers.
What You’ll Be Responsible For:
- Managing Linux administration with CLI operations.
- Implementing and maintaining automation using Terraform and Ansible.
- Working with CI/CD orchestration tools such as GitLab Pipeline, GitHub Action workflow, or Jenkins (Jenkinsfile pipeline).
- Understanding and troubleshooting network protocols, including TCP/IP and the OSI model.
- Supporting and optimizing data center operations, including server installations and remote access management.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve system performance and reliability.
Required Experience/Skills:
- Strong Linux administration experience with CLI operations.
- Fundamental understanding of TCP/IP and the OSI model.
- Proficiency in coding with Terraform and Ansible.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD orchestration tools such as GitLab Pipeline, GitHub Action workflow, or Jenkins.
- Prior experience working in a data center environment.
- Ability to remotely access and install servers.
Nice-to-Haves:
- Experience with monitoring and telemetry tools such as Prometheus, Librenms, Elasticsearch/Opensearch, and Grafana.
- Familiarity with Proxmox, KVM, and Docker.
- Knowledge of network automation tools like Nautobot and Netbox.
- A team-oriented mindset with a proactive approach to knowledge sharing and learning.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
