Opportunity:
Virtual Service Operations is seeking a JuniorAzure Cloud Engineer to join our team in Greenbelt, MD. This hybrid role requires candidates to work on-site occasionally, with the remainder of the time spent working remotely. We are seeking a Junior Azure Cloud Engineer with a foundational understanding of cloud automation and cybersecurity who is eager to grow their skills in the Azure cloud environment. This role involves deploying, maintaining, and optimizing cloud-based solutions while ensuring they remain secure, cost-effective, and aligned with operational requirements. The ideal candidate will have experience with Azure cloud services, automation, and security best practices and be ready to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities:
- Azure Cloud Management: Configure, manage, and optimize Azure resources such as virtual machines, networking, storage, and identity services.
- Cloud Automation & Scripting: Develop automation solutions using PowerShell, Azure CLI, and Azure Automation to streamline resource management and improve efficiency.
- Cybersecurity & Compliance: Implement security controls, monitor for potential threats, and manage Azure security services to ensure compliance with best practices.
- Troubleshooting & Support: Diagnose and resolve issues related to Azure infrastructure, including network, compute, storage, and security components.
- Collaboration & Continuous Learning: Work with senior engineers and other teams to align cloud solutions with business needs, while staying up-to-date on industry trends and advancements.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate cloud configuration documentation and assist in reporting system performance, security metrics, and resource usage.
Requirements
- 1-3 years of professional experience as an Azure Cloud Engineer
- Please note that pursuant to a government contract, this specific position requires U.S. citizenship status
- New hires assigned on this project will be required to undergo and pass drug and alcohol tests per our client's contract requirements
- Public Trust Clearance preferred.
- ITIL 3-4 certification is preferred.
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, or similar are preferred.

Salary Description
$90,000 - $110,000
