Role Summary:

This job takes the lead in providing more complex application development services typically as part of a project team or in an application support role. Developers analyze, design, code, test and implement more complex systematic solutions to meet customer requirements that adhere to Highmark IT standards and policies. Developers provide general support to maintain more complex applications that meet the service levels, system availability, performance and quality levels required by their customers. May mentor less experienced team members.

Essential Responsibilities:

Takes a lead role for analyzing, designing, coding, testing and implementing more complex application enhancements, as well as providing general production support, meeting defined scope, target dates and budgets with minimal or no defects.
Utilizes and participates in the more complex full system development life cycle, per current Highmark SDLC standards.
Takes a lead role in collaborating with customers, business analysts, partners, and IT team members to understand business requirements that drive the analysis and design of quality technical solutions. Concentrates on providing innovative solutions to more complex business needs.
Takes a lead role in providing required technical support, including release implementations, on-call and 24x7 supports when necessary.
Performs work in compliance with all Highmark and Highmark IT standards, policies and procedures.
Actively takes a leading role and participates on project teams in various project roles, including, but not limited to, Developer, Technical Lead and Project Manager, based upon level of experience.
Effectively communicates with team members, customers, partners and management, including assisting with or conducting more complex technical walkthroughs, reporting project status, enabling vendor solutions and providing accurate and concise documentation.• Other duties as assigned or requested.

Experience :

As the DevOps Architect, you are a specialist on complex technical business matters. Not only will you support and enhance existing claims /membership/provider products, you’ll develop new technology, platform and application-level solutions for emerging market needs.
In this role, the DevOps Architect - Healthcare creates design documents that ensure consistency in development across the IT organization.
You will participate in the definition of software architecture to ensure that the IT organization's software solutions are built within a consistent framework and aligned to strategy.
Expect to implement activities that generally impact multiple components / processes and the work of own and possibly other teams. Assigned complex undertakings that regularly require the application of independent judgment. You will receive work in short- and mid- term outcomes and operates within the context of approved methods.
Knowledge of Agile product development, product development lifecycle, and project management practices and tools
Written and oral communication necessary to interface with team members and document requirements and solutions
Ability to work independently, prioritize workload, assign work and make independent decisions
Ability to independently assess business requirements and propose product development solutions
Implement the strategic design and maintenance of business intelligence applications
Engage with product team and analysts to describe, document and implement quality solutions
Collaborate with team members and customers to acquire product feedback on products and services
Creates design documents that ensure consistency in development across the IT/Engineering. organization. Participates in the definition of IT/Engineering architecture to ensure that the IT/Engineering organization's solutions are built within a consistent framework.
Participates in the decision-making processes related to the selection of software architecture solutions.
Serves as a technical and business-savvy resource to software development engineering personnel on a range of software design issues.
Implements and improves core software infrastructure. Participates in improving software development lifecycle, technical operations and technology innovation.
Participates in developing technical / business approaches and new or enhanced technical tools.
Shares complex information related to areas of expertise and/or to gain acceptance of new or enhanced technology / business solutions.
Effectively resolves problems and roadblocks as they occur.
May perform systems and applications performance characterization and trade-off studies through analysis and simulation.

Must Have:

DevOps architect should automate the process with proper tools.
Developing appropriate DevOps channels throughout the organization.
Evaluating, implementing and streamlining DevOps practices.
Establishing a continuous build environment to accelerate software deployment and development processes.
Engineering general and effective processes.
Helping operation and developers teams to solve their problems.
Supervising, Examining and Handling technical operations.
Providing a DevOps Process and Operations.
Capacity to handle teams with leadership attitude.
Previous experience working on a 24x7 cloud or SaaS operation team.
Experience with infrastructure management and monitoring.
Strong Knowledge in GITLab SaaS, CI CD using Git Lab YML, GCP, Terraform, Python, Unix, Openshift
Maven, Gradle based build artifacts.
Strong knowledge of DevOps Platform tooling ( Chef, Puppet, and Docker.)
Working knowledge of automation service provisioning and middleware configuration.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong analytical skills.
Exposure to CI CD implementations for Mainframe , Java & Database applications.
