Insight Global is seeking a Cloud Engineer to support a customer delivering government‑contracted research across multiple academic institutions. This is a hands‑on Azure engineering role focused on building, automating, and scaling secure, multi‑tenant cloud environments for research teams.
What You’ll Do
- Build and support Azure infrastructure across multiple subscriptions and lines of business
- Deploy net‑new resources, including servers and Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD)
- Automate infrastructure using Terraform and heavy PowerShell scripting
- Support Azure networking, monitoring, patching, availability, and access requests
- Optimize Azure costs and support budgeting initiatives
- Collaborate in a DevOps / Agile environment and support CI/CD expansion
- Work independently to support new research programs and cloud architectures
Requirements:
- Cannot support sponsorship or C2C employment for this role
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- 3+ years of hands‑on Azure (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) experience
- Strong PowerShell scripting skills (Python a plus)
- Experience supporting Azure networking in complex or multi‑tenant environments
- Self‑starter mindset with strong troubleshooting skills
Nice to Have
- Azure certifications, HPC, AI/ML exposure, or experience in research/government environments
