Proem Sports is a sportstech firm working with sport and live event organisations to drive commercial performance. We have built a customer data platform which unifies data from all fan touchpoints to provide in-depth analytics, a fan segmentation engine and marketing capabilities to deliver actionable insights along with engagement capabilities.
We are looking for a hands-on DevOps Engineer to design, scale, and manage our cloud infrastructure. This role is ideal for someone with 4-7 years of experience in DevOps. You will be responsible for containerization, orchestration, monitoring, CI/CD, and infrastructure automation while ensuring high availability and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Containerize backend services, background workers, and frontend applications using Docker
- Deploy and manage workloads on Kubernetes
- Implement auto-scaling and high-availability architecture
- Set up monitoring, logging, and alerting systems
- Build and manage staging, testing, and production environments
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines
- Migrate and manage infrastructure using Terraform (Infrastructure as Code)
- Support and monitor data pipelines
- Optimize system performance, reliability, and cost
Requirements:
- Strong hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure)
- Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
- CI/CD pipeline implementation
- Monitoring and observability tools
- Experience designing scalable, production-grade systems
- Solid understanding of networking, security, and cloud architecture
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong Python knowledge and ability to contribute to backend development
- Experience with distributed systems and task queues
- Exposure to event-driven architectures
- Experience setting up and testing data pipelines
- Familiarity with security best practices (IAM, secrets management, vulnerability scanning)
- Experience with blue-green or canary deployments
- Cost optimization and cloud budgeting experience
- Experience implementing backup, disaster recovery, and failover strategies
- Familiarity with performance testing and load testing tools
- Experience working in fast-paced startup environments
- Understanding of DevSecOps practices
