Job Description
As a Junior DevOps Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of our public cloud environments. Your responsibilities will include taking ownership of day-to-day operational tasks, such as security patching and minor application software upgrades, as well as troubleshooting and resolving issues related to our cloud infrastructure. You will collaborate closely with our Public Cloud team and other relevant stakeholders to ensure seamless testing, approvals, and implementations. Adherence to our internal documentation and operational guidelines is essential, and you will be responsible for monitoring system alerts and escalating issues as needed.
Responsibilities
- Take responsibility for day-to-day operational tasks, including security patching and minor application software upgrades.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to public cloud environments.
- Collaborate with the Public Cloud team and other relevant stakeholders for necessary approvals, testing, and implementations.
- Strictly adhere to internal documentation and operational guidelines.
- Monitor system alerts and escalate issues to the relevant teams as required.
- Ensure timely and accurate documentation of all operational tasks and procedures.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and best practices in DevOps and cloud technologies.
- Provide support and guidance to junior team members, fostering a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a DevOps-related role, preferably with exposure to public cloud environments.
- Strong hands-on experience with Azure DevOps, Git, Linux/Windows OS, VS Code, and JIRA.
- Familiarity with Power Platform, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure, and application monitoring tools is essential.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform and Ansible is highly desirable.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Self-driven and proactive mindset, with a strong desire to learn and stay updated with emerging technologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues.
- A good understanding of software development lifecycle and best practices.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
