About us:
At Lumiture, we’re building next-generation solutions that fuse AI, data, and modern engineering to power intelligent experiences across industries. We’re not just coding apps - we’re shaping how technology helps businesses think, learn, and evolve.
If you love solving big problems, experimenting with cutting-edge tools, and making an impact from day one, you’ll feel right at home here.
The Role:
A unique opportunity to grow alongside a rapidly evolving team, supporting a government agency where we can make a meaningful impact.
We’re looking for a Cloud FinOps Engineer to help build and implement a modern FinOps model that strengthens cloud financial management, improves visibility, and drives smarter resource decisions. In this role, you’ll help establish the governance, tooling, processes, and operational foundations needed to optimize cloud spend while supporting mission-critical systems and responsible stewardship of public funds.
You’ll work across IT, Finance, and business stakeholders to improve how cloud costs are understood, managed, and optimized. This role combines cloud engineering, cost governance, operational improvement, and cross-functional collaboration - making it ideal for someone who enjoys turning cloud usage data into measurable business value.
What You'll Have Opportunities to Do:
- Help establish and operationalize a FinOps governance framework, including policies, standards, procedures, decision-making structures, and accountability models for cloud financial management.
- Partner with stakeholders across IT, Finance, and Business Units to assess current practices, identify gaps, and improve cloud cost management processes.
- Support the design of a FinOps organizational structure, including roles, responsibilities, RACI models, working groups, communication channels, and reporting mechanisms.
- Assess, recommend, and help implement FinOps tooling that improves cost visibility, control, reporting, and integration with existing financial and IT systems.
- Develop and enhance cost visibility and allocation capabilities, including tagging strategy support, showback/chargeback approaches, and cost reporting dashboards for stakeholders at multiple levels.
- Identify cloud waste and optimization opportunities by analyzing idle resources, underutilized services, orphaned infrastructure, storage usage, and provisioned capacity.
- Implement and support rightsizing and cost optimization strategies, including automated recommendations, storage tier optimization, discount strategy support, and anomaly detection.
- Contribute to FinOps roadmap development by assessing maturity, identifying capability gaps, prioritizing initiatives, and defining milestones, risks, resource needs, and success metrics.
- Support change management and adoption efforts through stakeholder engagement, training, workshops, KPI development, and collaboration across technical and non-technical teams.
- Help identify and support automation and AI pilot opportunities that improve operational efficiency, service delivery, and decision-making.
What We're Looking For:
- US Citizens or Dual Citizens only
- Experience in cloud financial management, FinOps, cloud cost optimization, or cloud infrastructure engineering
- Strong understanding of cloud governance, cost allocation, usage optimization, and operational accountability
- Experience working across cross-functional stakeholders, especially in environments involving technology, finance, and business operations
- Ability to evaluate and improve cloud cost visibility, reporting, dashboards, and financial controls
- Experience identifying and addressing waste, underutilization, rightsizing opportunities, and cost anomalies in cloud environments
- Familiarity with tagging strategies, showback/chargeback models, and FinOps operating practices
- Experience assessing or implementing tooling and integrations that support cloud cost management and reporting
- Ability to contribute to roadmap planning, maturity assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate technical and financial concepts for a range of stakeholders
- Comfort working in a collaborative, agile environment and helping drive organizational change and adoption
