Job Description:
Responsibilities
Direct Responsibilities
- Technical expertise in software development, IT operations, and DevOps tools and technologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
- A deep understanding of agile methodologies and principles.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms and services, as well as experience in managing cloud-based infrastructure.
- Familiarity with security best practices and the ability to implement security measures in the software development lifecycle.
- A commitment to continuous learning and staying up to date with the latest industry trends and technologies.
- Proficient in English.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
Must have skills in:
- Kubernetes/Docker (build and management)
- Ansible Tower.
- GIT repository management.
- CI/CD tools (Jenkins) skills.
- Development in Python
- Good hands-on Linux/Windows server
- SQL Databases (MS SQL, Postgres)
- Experience in Monitoring and observability tool Dynatrace/Prometheus/Grafana
- Experience in Logging tools Splunk/Kibana
- API building knowledge.
- Experience of delivering strategic priorities within strict timelines.
- Good to have skills:
- ITIL
- Skills on Linux and Windows operating systems.
- Experience in documentation.
- Network expertise.
Required Technical Knowledge/Skills:
- Container orchestration & image management
- Proven experience designing, deploying and scaling Kubernetes clusters (on prem, cloud or hybrid) and authoring production grade Docker files.
- Ability to troubleshoot pod failures, upgrade cluster versions in place and implement security best practices (RBAC, network policies, secrets).
- Infrastructure as Code with Ansible Tower
- Hands on creation, modularization and version control of Ansible playbooks and roles; proficiency using Ansible Tower or job scheduling, credential vaulting and workflow orchestration.
- Source code & version control governance
- Strong Git expertise: branching strategies (Git flow, trunk based), pull request reviews, merge conflict resolution and repository level access control.
- Automation scripting in Python
- Ability to develop reusable Python modules for tooling, API integration, custom Jenkins plugins or Ansible modules; familiarity with virtual environments, packaging (wheel, pip) and linting (flake8, black).
- Operating system expertise (Linux / Windows)
- Database:
- Practical experience with Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL
- Observability stack (monitoring & metrics)
- Proven use of Dynatrace, Prometheus & Grafana to build dashboards, set up alerting rules, and conduct capacity planning.
- Understanding of service level objectives (SLOs) and automated remediation based on metric thresholds.
- Centralized logging & analysis
- Hands on configuration of Splunk or Kibana/Elastic Stack pipelines: log ingestion, parsing, enrichment, correlation and creation of actionable visualizations.
- API design, integration & delivery of strategic initiatives
- Experience designing, documenting (OpenAPI/Swagger) and securing RESTful APIs; ability to embed API testing into CI/CD pipelines.
- Demonstrated track record delivering high visibility projects on strict timelines, coordinating cross functional teams, and communicating progress to both technical and non technical stakeholders.
Other Value-Added Competencies:
Knowledge and experience with Ansible Tower, Centrify, Veritas and BMC software.
Have good scripting skills, in PowerShell, Python or other programming languages.
Have knowledge and experience using Agile methodologies and/or have been part of DevOps teams.
