Role Overview
We are looking for a hands-on DevOps / Cloud Infrastructure Engineer with deep expertise in OpenSearch to design, build, and maintain our cloud infrastructure. In this role, you will own cloud provisioning, operational automation, proxy configurations, and performance optimization for our search and data clusters. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, scalable, and secure infrastructure solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Cloud Infrastructure & Provisioning: Design, deploy, and manage highly available, scalable, and secure cloud infrastructure using AWS services and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) principles.
- OpenSearch Ownership: Architect, manage, and optimize OpenSearch clusters—handling cluster health, indexing strategies, query performance tuning, and capacity planning.
- Automation & CI/CD: Develop and maintain automation workflows using Ansible and scripting languages (Python, Bash, etc.) to streamline deployments and enhance CI/CD pipelines.
- Proxy & Network Management: Implement, configure, and troubleshoot forward/reverse proxy architectures to ensure secure and efficient traffic routing across infrastructure.
- Monitoring & Performance Optimization: Actively monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve complex infrastructure issues, maintaining high system reliability and operational performance.
- Technical Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional engineering teams to translate technical requirements into robust, automated infrastructure solutions.
- Best Practices & Operations: Drive continuous improvement in system architecture, coding practices, operational stability, and security standards.
Key Skills & Qualifications
- Experience: 3+ years of relevant industry experience in a DevOps, SRE, or Cloud Infrastructure role.
- OpenSearch Expertise (Must-Have): Strong hands-on experience with OpenSearch or Elasticsearch, including cluster management, index lifecycle management, node architecture, and performance tuning.
- AWS & Cloud Services: Solid experience with core AWS infrastructure services (EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, ECS/EKS, etc.).
- Automation & Scripting: Proficiency in Ansible for configuration management and proficiency in Python or Bash scripting.
- Proxy Concepts: Clear understanding of proxy servers (e.g., NGINX, HAProxy, Envoy), reverse proxies, load balancing, and network traffic management.
- CI/CD & IaC: Practical experience with continuous integration/continuous deployment pipelines and Infrastructure-as-Code (e.g., Terraform or CloudFormation).
- Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills with a systematic approach to resolving complex cloud and infrastructure issues.
