Job description - DevOps Manager
Job title
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic DevOps Lead to join Innovation UK. The successful candidate will play a critical role in creating, implementing, and maintaining Azure DevOps processes, best practices, and strategies. The DevOps Lead will be responsible for deploying and building pipelines, ensuring seamless integration and continuous delivery, and leading our DevOps team towards achieving operational excellence.
Job roles and responsibilities
· Manage the deployment of solutions, encompassing both applications and infrastructure.
· Ensure that deployments of new solutions comply with Global IT Enterprise Architectural standards.
· Design, architect, develop, deploy, and evolve CI and CD systems for our cloud applications.
· Write Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using industry standard tools and services.
· Write application deployment automation using industry standard deployment and configuration tools.
· Maintain relevant documentation over the lifecycle of solutions ensuring they are kept up to date.
· Monitor and provide support for deployed solutions.
· Possess excellent knowledge of (hybrid) cloud concepts and technologies, preferably utilizing Azure and Microsoft technologies. Be familiar with governance, monitoring, IAM, storage and server(less) infrastructure, and container concepts.
· Work on building a continuous delivery process with CI/CD pipelines involving version management, automation, and infrastructure as code.
· Craft an Adaptable Product Roadmap.
· Embrace the power of Agile methodologies and Azure DevOps to drive efficiency, productivity, and exceptional teamwork.
· Define and track relevant product metrics and KPIs to gauge product performance and user satisfaction.
· Ensure the scalability and reliability of the Azure DevOps environment.
· Identify and enforce best practices for DevOps within the organization.
· Standardize processes across development, testing, and production environments.
· Automate deployment processes using tools like Octopus Deploy to enhance efficiency and reduce manual interventions.
· Manage the full release process, ensuring smooth and timely deployments.
· Build and deploy code base projects in production environment.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information technology.
· Minimum of 7 years of experience in a technical position, with at least 5 years specifically in DevOps.
· Ability to connect on-premises technology to cloud offerings.
· Experience in architecture design, implementation, and support of highly distributed setups, ensuring high availability and reliability.
· Have moderate to extensive experience across the following:
o Hybrid and multi-cloud architectures
o Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
o Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI/CD)
o Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS)
o Platform as a Service (PaaS)
o Software as a Service (SaaS)
o Containerisation
· Hands-on experience on the following technologies and tools:
o Biceps
o Visual Studio code
o PowerShell scripting
o Web technologies (JSON, HTML, JavaScript, XML, jQuery)
· Certifications:
o AZ-900: Microsoft Azure Fundamentals
o AZ-104: Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate
o AZ-400: Microsoft DevOps Engineer Expert
