Role: Snr DevOps Engineer
Location: Midtown Manhattan, NY
Salary: $170,000 - $210,000 + 20% bonus
A premier boutique wealth management firm is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join its technology organization. This full-time role supports Software Development and Data Engineering teams, focusing on cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, automation, and platform reliability. The position is hybrid, requiring 2-3 days per week on-site in the firm’s NYC headquarters.
Key Responsibilities include:
Cloud Infrastructure & Automation
- Design and manage secure, scalable cloud environments (Azure preferred) using Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.
- Build hardened images with Packer.
- Implement network segmentation, private endpoints, and secrets management.
CI/CD Engineering
- Own standards and architecture for CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, GitLab, Jenkins/Octopus).
- Automate testing, quality gates, security scans, artifact management, and deployment workflows.
- Provide reusable pipeline templates and enforce version control best practices.
- Automate change management and audit‑ready deployment processes.
Containers & Orchestration
- Build and optimize containerized workloads using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Support GitOps and service mesh integrations.
Security, Compliance & Governance
- Embed security‑by‑design principles.
- Implement guardrails, policy‑as‑code, and automated evidence collection aligned with regulatory frameworks.
Observability & Reliability
- Deploy and maintain monitoring/observability tools (e.g., Datadog, LogicMonitor).
- Define SLOs/SLIs, manage incident response, and lead postmortems.
Data Platform Support
- Manage infrastructure for data tools (Airflow, dbt).
- Ensure data quality, lineage, encryption, and protection of sensitive data.
- Support secure integrations with financial systems and internal APIs.
Developer Experience
- Enable engineering teams through documentation, best practices, and self-service tooling.
- Promote cloud-native, cost-efficient design patterns.
Ideal Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in DevOps or platform engineering.
- Strong cloud experience (Azure preferred).
- Expertise in Terraform, CI/CD tooling, containers, and orchestration.
- Strong Linux/Windows and scripting background.
- Familiarity with configuration management (Ansible, Puppet, or Chef).
- Solid understanding of networking, security, compliance, and SRE concepts.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, organizational skills, and professionalism.
- Experience in financial services is a plus.
