Job Description
As a DevOps Engineer, you will play a crucial role in driving efficiency and innovation within the Blue Planet Services Organization. Your primary focus will be on automating software pipelines, ensuring seamless deployments, and providing support to end-users. This role demands a strong background in DevOps practices, with a particular emphasis on Linux OS automation, automated deployment frameworks, and CI/CD processes.
Responsibilities
- Automate software pipeline processes, including developing, enhancing, and maintaining continuous integration and deployment tools across multiple platforms and deployment models.
- Deploy Blue Planet applications in AWS environments and ensure their administration, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
- Implement and operate high-availability, geo-redundant, and zero-downtime upgrade solutions.
- Perform daily operational tasks and provide support to end-users, including product and project developers.
- Work collaboratively in a global team environment, attending status calls with stakeholders as needed.
- Closely collaborate with the product development team to align on project plans and priorities.
- Document existing processes using structured approaches and process mapping tools.
- Identify and support the implementation of process improvements to enhance business operations.
- Engage with clients to understand their needs and tailor solutions accordingly.
- Ensure efficient and effective business processes are in place for all projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (BS or BA).
- 3+ years of relevant DevOps experience, with a focus on Linux OS automation, scripting, and automated deployment frameworks.
- Proficiency in developing and maintaining complex CI/CD processes, such as GitLab CI.
- Experience with implementing continuous delivery pipelines in Jenkins.
- Familiarity with public cloud IaaS, particularly AWS or other similar platforms.
- Knowledge of monitoring frameworks, such as Prometheus, is preferred.
- Domain knowledge in OSS and Telecom is desirable.
- Basic understanding of Docker and containerization technologies.
- Certifications in Docker Certified Associate, Kubernetes, AWS DevOps Engineer Professional, AZ-400, or Puppet Professional are advantageous.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
